-dog eat dog world.-
This is a world where you have to constantly fight for your survival. Its true what the adults say, that this is a big fish eat small fish world. If you do not fight for your own rights and just do what other people tell you to, you would never ever succeed. I guess this is the main reason why the Singapore government want us to be more creative. It is meant to help us compete with the world for business opportunities or anything for that matter.
However, i msut say that Singapore is still a very conservative country. Although the government is giving us more opportunities to speak out there are still many OB markers that prevent any Singaporeans from daring to voice out their real views. If we are living in a country that has so many bans, what's that i hear about them encouraging creativity? How are we supposed to do that when we are so restricted?
Its really saddening to see people put the Caucasians high up on a pedestal in our country. They regard them as the all mighty, like the caucasians can do everything we can't. In shopping centres you would see sales person giving them special treatment. For example, they would give that warm smile and speak with the fake accent when serving them. They would also do everything to please the caucasians. When in fact in their minds they are thinking " Just quit wasting my time and hand me all your money." Naturally, the caucasians enjoy the special attention they receive and fully exploit it without knowing that the locals are just eyeing their money.
However, when they are serving the locals they would give you that i-can't-be-bothered-with-you look. Even when you ask them to help you search for something, they would do so reluctantly and when handing the thing to you they would do so with a very rude "nah". Also, they would look at you with those kind of eyes that say " you sure you have money to pay or not?" I mean like what is the world coming to? Are asians supposed to remain beneath the Caucasians forever? Are we meant to be inferior to them? I seriously doubt so.
Anyway, if you noticed, CaucASIANS contain the word ASIANS. You can look at this in two different ways. One is that asians came from the "high and mighty" caucasians, the other is that the caucasians could never survive without the asians. Which would you rather want to believe in?
